Chateau Lafite Rothschild Anseillan 2019

Chateau Lafite Rothschild Anseillan 2019

Description & Tasting Notes

Why this wine?

Beautiful color, rich, intense and an expressive nose, very characteristic of the 2019 vintage with its ripe and fresh notes. Its attack is dense, yet lively and powerful. The already melted tannins extend the length on the palate.

Anseillan is the first new label the famous French chateaux has released in over 100 years.  Anseillan is the village next to Château Lafite Rothschild and the grapes grown there have been blended into Lafite wines since 1970. The first vintage of the new wine was released in 2018 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Rothschild family’s acquisition of Chateau Lafite.  Unlike its vastly more expensive older siblings – a 2019 Chateau Lafite will run you close to $1,000 – the 2019 Anseillan was made to drink now and be more affordable at $100.
