Our brick & mortar store is opening in March 2024. You will be able to order online for pickup only until we get shipping permissions and permits sorted for various states. If you want to inquire about future shipping to a particular location, please email us

Title and ownership on all Wine passes to the buyer at the time of purchase.

All wines purchased from Story in a Bottle Wines LLC are sold at its licensed premises in Bellevue, Washington, where title passes to the buyer.  For a shipping and handling fee, Story in a Bottle Wines will, at the request of the buyer, arrange shipment of the wines to a buyer in certain other states.  Buyers are advised that some states place restrictions, including but not limited to limits on quantity, on the alcoholic beverages which a resident may bring into the state.  We make no representations concerning your legal right to ship or receive wine into any state outside Washington. The buyer is responsible for compliance with their State Laws regarding wine import and taxation. 

Interstate shipping laws for wine are constantly changing.  Currently, we only plan to offer to arrange shipping to the following states: Alaska, California, D.C., Florida, New Mexico, Oregon, and Virginia.  We do not ship to PO boxes, APO/PPO addresses or third-party rental centers.  In addition, we do not ship to addresses in foreign countries, nor to freight forwarders or brokers who intend to ship the wines to destinations outside of the U.S.

You must be at least 21 years of age to order, purchase and receive wine by U.S. federal law. Story in a Bottle Wines LLC requires the signature of an adult (minimum 21 years of age) upon delivery of the order.

 Please be aware of the delivery information provided in your shipment confirmation email. The shipment date and destination address cannot be changed once shipment is confirmed. Restocking fees may apply for returned shipments.

Story in a Bottle Wines is not responsible for damage to wine, including leakage or damaged corks, resulting from heat or extreme temperatures during shipment. During periods of heat or extreme cold, please contact us so that we may hold your shipment for a pre-determined amount of time.  We reserve the right to hold shipment of your wine during extreme weather conditions, or for carrier service disruptions due to inclement weather.

SIAB Online Orders: Pick-Up & Shipping Options

Local Orders (Greater Seattle Area):

All orders have the option of in-store pick up during normal business hours at our storefront at 10625 Main Street, Bellevue, WA 98004.  Orders exceeding $250 are eligible for free delivery within ten (10) driving miles of our Bellevue location. Delivery must be pre-arranged, with a person 21 years or older available to accept delivery.  Should you wish to utilize a third-party delivery service for delivery within the greater Seattle area, please call us and we’ll be happy to assist.

Washington State Orders:

Subject to our Shipping Policy (link to full legal description), wine purchased from our online site may be shipped within Washington state.  Shipping times may vary based on factors specific to the third-party carrier employed. Shipping rates depend on amount of wine purchased (be advised it is most economical to ship wine in six (6) and twelve (12) bottle quantities).  If you are traveling to the Bellevue area and would like us to hold your purchase in-store for an extended time, please let us know. 

Orders for Shipping Outside of Washington State:

Interstate shipping laws are complex, state-specific, and often changing.  In accordance with our Shipping Policy (link), we are currently only offering to arrange shipping on the customer’s behalf to the following states:  Alaska, California, D.C., Florida, North Dakota, Oregon, and Virginia.  Should you live in a state not listed, please contact us and we can discuss whether shipping might be available to your state.   


All alcohol sales are final. We do not offer refunds, exchanges, or store credit in most cases.  

Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
